1. People resort to terrorism as a form of direct protest to spread their "vision". A certain group of people may feel that there is something wrong in the way they are governed, because their opinions and voices are not being heard. By bringing fear to the people and making them feel insecure is way for terrorist to temporarily gain control over an area.

2. Terrorism is the use of threats or intimidation to achieve a goal, whether it be a religious reason, or a political reason.
State Terrorism is a form terrorism that is planned by the government to scare their own people or to gain the support of another political view.

3. Lolita Lebron was a Puerto Rican activist who led a group of people to attack the house of representatives with pistols on March 1, 1954. Her goal was to fight for independence for Puerto Rico. After the attack she was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

4. She and the people alongside her wanted to prove that Puerto Rico was not just another colony of the United States, but was an independent country. She wanted to stop the fact that Puerto Rican men can still be drafted into the US Army, but cannot vote for a president. Also, she wanted to stop the United States from using their natural resources, and basically taking over their land without permission from the people.

5. Puerto Rico became a common wealth after being invaded by the US, during the Spanish American War in 1898. It was officially labelled "commonwealth" in February 4, 1952 as a way to celebrate the anniversary of the arrival of the US troops.

6. After analyzing the two videos, an obvious conclusion can be made that all who were involved were imprisoned for several years, but the voices of the "terrorists" ere heard, and they did gain respect from their acts.

7. The media portrayed the Puerto Rican nationalists as the biggest that has happened to the United States (at the time). What they have failed to realize is the actual reason as to why they are acting in such a way. The Puerto Rican nationalists were only fighting for their freedom, just as Americans fought for their own independence.

1) I think people resort to terroism when they feel as though people are not respecting them or who they are.

2)terrorism is basically the use of threats and actions of violence to intimidate people and state terrorism is acts of violence by the government.

3) Lolita Lebron was an advocate for independence of puerto ricans and she was the mastermind for the shootings in 1954 @ the house of reps.

4)To me , the P.R. Nationalist were trying to make Puerto Rico free since they werent and wanted to be.

5)Once Puerto Rico had governed, they became a common wealth after the constitution was ratified.

6)The shooting at the Capitol building resulted in the Puerto Rico nationalist doing time in prison.

7)This stuff on Lolita Lebron and what the Puerto Rican nationalist did is baasically like terrorism so they are portrayed basically like terrorist.
